ALDG Pays Courtesy Visit to NMDPRA Authority Chief Executive, Secures Support for Business Forum

A delegation from the Association of Local Distributors of Gas (ALDG), led by the Chairman of its Governing Board, Kehinde Alabi, Managing Director of Axxela Gas Distribution, and the Executive Secretary, John Kadiri, Managing Director of Alpha Maxvalue Energy & Renewables Ltd, paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Rabiu Abdullahi Umar.

The ALDG delegation included key representatives from member companies and the Secretariat, including Ehizogie Olotu, Sales and Commercial Manager, Shell Nigeria Gas Limited; Abiodun Oseni, Head of Strategy, Powergas; Eromonsele Agboighale, Head of Sales and Marketing, Axxela Limited; and Ogechukwuka Okelue, Legal & Regulatory Manager, ALDG.

The visit served as an opportunity to formally congratulate the Authority Chief Executive on his appointment and to engage on key developments within Nigeria’s gas distribution sector. The ALDG leadership also provided a briefing on the Association’s ongoing activities, as well as key industry issues and priorities affecting operators across the value chain.

During the engagement, the Association shared details of the 2nd Edition of the ALDG Business Forum, a high-level convening of operators, policymakers, business leaders, and investors across Nigeria’s gas industry, scheduled to hold on June 4, 2026, at the PTDF Conference Centre, Abuja.

The Authority Chief Executive reaffirmed the NMDPRA’s commitment to continued collaboration with industry stakeholders, including ALDG, in support of a stable, efficient, and sustainable gas sector that drives national economic growth. He also wished the Association success at the upcoming forum and expressed support for its objectives and continued industry engagement.
