The Association of Local Distributors of Gas (ALDG) has announced the election of Olakunle Williams, Founder and CEO of Tetracore Energy Group, as Deputy Chairman of its Governing Board, effective 30th January 2026.

Established in 2020, ALDG serves as the unified voice of local gas distributors in Nigeria, promoting policy advocacy and engagement with government, regulators, and key stakeholders to advance the safe, sustainable, and efficient distribution of natural gas across the country.

The creation of the Deputy Chairman role marks a strategic step to further strengthen the Association’s corporate governance framework, providing enhanced leadership support and a clear line of succession alongside the Chairman of the Governing Board, Mr Kehinde Alabi.

Olakunle Williams brings extensive industry experience to the role. As CEO of Tetracore Energy Group, he leads the company’s strategic growth across Africa’s energy markets. Most recently, he oversaw a landmark expansion into Ghana, launching the country’s first-ever CNG virtual pipeline network.

A seasoned energy professional, he has played a pivotal role in the development of Nigeria’s gas sector, with prior experience at Deloitte and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). He is a recipient of the Vanguard Energy Icon Award (2025) and was honoured with the Nigerian Domestic Gas Ambassador Award by the Nigerian Gas Association in 2022.

Olakunle Williams transitions into the Deputy Chairman role after serving as a member of ALDG’s Governing Board. The Board includes Ralph Gbobo, Managing Director, Shell Nigeria Gas; Audrey Joe Ezigbo, Managing Director, Falcon Corporation Limited; Emeka Okwuosa, Group CEO, Oilserv; Sumeet Singh, Managing Director, Powergas; and Lekan Adekeye, CEO, Viathan Group.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Kehinde Alabi, Chairman of ALDG’s Governing Board and Managing Director, Axxela Gas Distribution, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Olakunle Williams as Deputy Chairman of the Governing Board. His election further strengthens our corporate governance and leadership structure and adds significant value to the Association as we continue to advance the interests of local gas distributors in Nigeria.”

In his response, Olakunle Williams said:

“I am delighted to take on this leadership role at ALDG. This is a landmark step for the Association, and I look forward to working with the Chairman and Board members to deepen advocacy, strengthen collaboration with stakeholders, and support the continued growth of Nigeria’s domestic gas market.”
